Get Started with Trezor | Trezor.io/start
Welcome. If you’ve just unboxed a Trezor device (Model One, Model T, or a Safe), this guide walks you through the essential steps to set up your device, protect your crypto, and use the official Trezor Suite for management. Always download or continue from the official Trezor start page.
1. Verify & prepare
Check box seals and use only official downloads. Never trust random links in emails. Visit the official quick-start to download Trezor Suite or continue in browser.
2. Install Trezor Suite
Download the desktop client for the best experience or use the web client. Trezor Suite guides the full device initialization, firmware checks, and account management.
3. Initialize & back up
- Connect the device and follow Suite prompts.
- Create a new wallet (recommended) or recover an existing one with your seed.
- Write the recovery seed on paper or metal—never store it digitally.
4. Security best practices
Keep the seed offline in a secure place (safe or metal plate). Use a PIN on the device. Be cautious with passphrases and treat them as critical secrets: if lost, funds may be unrecoverable.
5. Updates & maintenance
Install firmware updates only via the official Suite. Check the firmware changelog and support pages for details and troubleshooting steps.
6. Help & developer resources
If you need help, use the official Support and Learn pages or the Trezor GitHub organization and docs for developer references.
- Use verified downloads
